From Panipuri to Biryani: The Best Street Foods Spots in Dhangadhi
If you are a true foodie visiting Dhangadhi, exploring the street food scene is an absolute must! The evening markets come alive with incredible local flavors that you just can't miss. You can start your food crawl with spicy, tangy panipuri, chatpate, chow mein, biryani, and more. Here are some recommendations from my side that you must try when you're in Dhangadhi:
1. Lallu Chatpate(Dhangadhi, Campus Road)
Lalu Chatpate, located at Campus Road, is one of the most famous chatpate spots in Dhangadhi. It usually opens in the evening around 7:00 PM and gets super crowded! People who are returning from work or out for an evening walk love to stop by for a quick bite.
What makes his chatpate special is that as soon as it is mixed, you have to combine it with puff rice (bhuja) right away. Also, the vendor's special sour-and-spicy liquid mixture (chuk) is extremely spicy and delicious! The masala used at Lalu Chatpate is very different from others and tastes amazing, which is why everyone loves it so much.If you are in Dhangadhi, Lalu Chatpate is a must-try spot!
2. Sukla Chaat golgappa Centre ( Dhangadhi, Genz Marg)
Shukla Chaat & Golgappa Center is located right on Genz Marg. This place is super famous for its panipuri and chaat! What makes their panipuri stand out is the delicious stuffing—it is so full of flavor that everyone in Dhangadhi loves coming here.
The best time to visit is in the evening when they serve fresh and tasty panipuri. If you are in Dhangadhi and crave a good plate of panipuri, this spot is definitely a must-visit!
3. Ramesh Choewin Centre (Dhangadhi, Parkmode)
Ramesh Chowmein Center is located at Park Mode, right behind the Devote hotel. If you have been living in Dhangadhi for a long time, you definitely know this historic and iconic spot!
Their chow mein is super famous and completely different from other places—they serve it with crispy pakodas on top! Along with chow mein, their spicy Chutny is also super delicious. The portion size is generous, the flavors are amazing, and it is loved by everyone in town. If you are in Dhangadhi, you must visit this place!
4. Kolkota Dum Biryani (Dhangadhi, kailali)
Kolkata Dum Biryani is located in Dhangadhi, inside the area leading to the Shiv Temple, opposite the "I Love Dhangadhi" sign. It is the cheapest place to get biryani in all of Dhangadhi, serving a plate for just 50 rupees. The biryani is extremely juicy, and the seating area is surprisingly good for a 50-rupee spot. If you love biryani, you should definitely visit!
5. Pokhara unique chatpat (Dhangadhi, Hasanpur)
Pokhara Unique Chatpate is located right opposite the +2 Axis College in Hasanpur. They offer everything from regular chatpate to wet/gravy chatpate (gilo chatpate).
Their specialty dish is Papdi Chaat, which is absolutely delicious! In fact, it is considered one of the best papdi chaats you can find in all of Dhangadhi. Because of its great location and tasty snacks, it is a favorite hangout and snack spot for college students. If you are a college student or just craving a delicious chaat, this place is definitely worth a visit!
That wraps up my favorite street food spots in Dhangadhi! Whether you are craving something spicy, tangy, or super filling, these local stalls will never disappoint. Be sure to try them out on your next evening walk with friends—and don't forget to let me know which one becomes your personal favorite!
